ClickSight Shopify privacy notice

This notice explains how ClickSight processes data when a merchant installs and uses the ClickSight Shopify app. The merchant controls its store data; ClickSight processes that data to provide the merchant with analytics.
Data we process
We process Shopify shop identifiers, app permissions, order and refund identifiers and timestamps, financial totals and currency, product and variant identifiers, quantities, inventory cost facts, and consented storefront attribution events. We do not request Shopify customer name, email, phone or postal-address fields.
Purposes and limits
We use this data only to connect the merchant’s store, reconcile orders and refunds, calculate revenue and profit, measure attribution, operate merchant dashboards, prevent duplicates, secure the integration, and satisfy legal or privacy requests. We do not sell Shopify customer data or use it for legally significant automated decisions.
Consent
The ClickSight Web Pixel follows Shopify’s customer privacy signals. Analytics events are not persisted when analytics processing is not allowed. Order and refund records may still be processed in a privacy-minimised form to provide the merchant’s requested accounting and store analytics.
Security, service providers and transfers
Data is encrypted in transit and protected at rest. Access is restricted by tenant, role and service capability. ClickSight may use contracted hosting, database, email and operational service providers solely to operate the service. They may not use merchant data for their own purposes.
Retention and deletion
We retain data while the merchant account and integration are active and only as long as needed for the service, security, legal obligations and dispute resolution. Shopify customer-redaction and shop-redaction requests delete behavioural records and remove customer linkage from retained accounting aggregates. Uninstall revokes the app credentials. Merchants may also request access, export or deletion through support.
